Bomann MixerWhen the parcel arrived I unpacked it and set-up the machine only to find that the wrong adapter for the two pin plug had been sent. Luckily I had a travel adapter of my own and I was able to use that.To my dismay the mixer would not power up, so I checked all the fuses in case it was a fault of my own making, but it just would not start.I immediately emailed the supplier via Amazon (Avides) who sent a postage label via email for me to return the machine free-of-charge to Germany via my local Post Office.It was a large parcel and my nearest Post Office is nearly 3 miles away, but I managed to get it there in one piece.Avides were very prompt with their replies when I sent emails and it was returned and a new product sent within a week. So their service cannot be faulted.When the new product arrived it worked without any problem and my first sponge cake was a huge success.The only down side about this product is that it is noisier than I had anticipated when it is mixing and when I put in the ingredients to start mixing they stuck to the side of the bowl and the mixing tool simply rotated past it without mixing. This meant that I needed a spatula to scrape the food into the centre of the bowl until it became more liquefied.All in all this is a robust and capable machine with more than enough power for even the toughest jobs. The bowl is large and capable of holding a good quantity of dough, the mixer is easy to use and very simple to clean. It looks great on the worktop and is a useful addition to any kitchen where food mixing is a preferred task.This product may well be worthy of five stars, but I have only given it four because of my initial disappointment and the fact that the wrong adapter had been supplied.UPDATE: I have used the mixer four times and the electronic switch has malfunctioned meaning another trip to the Post Office to return it to Germany. Avides were very helpful and sent a pre-paid postage label via email. I have reviewed my star rating down to 2 stars because of this second failure.UPDATE: Avides have told me they cannot replace my mixer and have asked if I would choose another similar model from their shop. Unfortunately there is nothing similar so I have asked for and they have authorised a refund through Amazon. 5 stars for Avides service - 1 star for the mixer :-(
