It is unfortunate that the request for a review came the day after I posted the processor back to Philips.The handle on the bowl is the only thing to hold onto when attaching and disconnecting the bowl from the base unit, unless you hold the edge of the bowl !!.On the first time I used the processor I heard a crack when attaching it and no apparent damage was seen, a couple of weeks later a loud crack was heard when disconnecting it and pieces of plastic flew around.The handle could then lift partly away from the bowl, at this point I sent it back.The amount of connection between the bowl and handle does not seem strong enough for the power needed to connect and disconnect.In all other aspects it was a great processor.

Quality exceeded my expectations for this food processor from the moment it was delivered. A lot of thought has clearly gone into this product from the immaculate packaging to the very helpful colour co-ordination of the tools. We have a cupboard full of old attachments from a variety of blenders and choppers and many will know how easy it is to forget which tool goes where! I had deliberated on my choice of food processor as some reviews on this product suggested some of the plastic components may be fragile. When you see the generous size of the XL Bowl you will appreciate why the designers at Philips went for plastic rather than glass. It is light yet sturdy and well finished. Assembly is simple and speed settings are made easy by the colour co-ordination. Very satisfying click as the bowl and lid slot into place and then a smile as you see a courgette turned into a bowlful of translucent slices in a few seconds. Dauphinois potatoes and red onion fed in whole, all done effortlessly and without drama. In terms of value for money I am very pleased with this purchase and would thoroughly recommend to others thinking of speeding up preparation with great results.

Have had this for a month and been using it every single day!!! We are a vegetarian family so it took forever to cut the different vegetables to prepare one meal but with this it just takes me 3-4 minutes to do the whole lot. We use the dough tool extensively - too good to be true. Good value for money. Looks nice in the kitchen. I do wish that it came with a storage solution like kenwood processors do. And i could really do with a thick slicer - can't seem to find one. All in all happy with the purchase - specially because I can chuck all the bits and bobs in the dishwasher in the end.
