Only had this for 1 day and have made the lightest cake ever plus a wedding cake that smells lovely. It looks great, the timer just spoils you but in all honesty Ive put it on timer and ended up watching it go round as its so great to see a machine do the hard work, so as yet I havent managed to do other tasks while the machine works.Bowl is huge, you do need a big spatcheler which sadly isnt included in this model. I found that with each batch Ive had to scrape around the sides and bottom once and thats it, there was a tiny bit that hadnt mixed but I would never leave it to chance anyway so didnt cause me extra work. Easy to clean. Big bonus for me is the splash guard that comes with it. Not yet made buttercream but its going to be fab not have puffs of icing sugar in the air and then to clean after it settles on the worktops. Its fantastic!

Having been bitterly disappointed by my earlier purchase of the Smaller Andrew James Mixer, I was offered an upgrade to this one.Brilliant design, beater mixes thoroughly, reaches bottom and sides of bowl. PERFECT for cake making, even does a great job with the buttercream. Actually performs BETTER than my Kenwood Chef.For this reason, the Kenwood has been relegated to the pantry, and this is now my full time machine. And for less than half of what i paid for the Kenwood.One small criticism... Andrew James need to design a flexi-beater. These are a godsend.LCD display and Automatic/timer options are brilliant. I can put the ingredients in, set the timer and go off to do the washing up. The mixer is a bit noisy but no more than I'd expect from a 1000 Watt motor.Highly recommended..... By a professional cake baker. 5 Star.

Originally I was going to buy the smaller Andrew James mixer, however, after reading the reviews and searching on-line I decided to opt for this one instead.I only bake for my family, I'm not making huge batches of cakes at one time and that was a major factor in choosing a mixer.The smaller mixer had wonderful feedback, but the one negative that seemed to crop up all the time was that it did not cope well with small amounts of ingredients. Indeed over and over again I saw people stating that they constantly had to stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl and that that the ingredients in the bottom of the bowl were not mixed properly. I had to do this before, with a very, very cheap mixer and frankly it's a pain and very time consuming and I did not what to have to do this with a more expensive machine.I've only used this machine once so far, I made a Victoria sponge (200g flour, butter, sugar, 3 large eggs)and whipped some cream, but the cake came out very light and the cream was well whipped. I did not have to scrape down the sides of the bowl and all of the ingredients were well mixed.I've yet to try making cupcakes, butter cream or icing, and I'll have to see how it copes with very small amounts of ingredients, but so far this is looking like a great buy.
