This is my second one because I actually cut through the first with the bread knife. I find it falls apart quite easily and have had to tape the back piece on. It needs redesigning because it does actually work if held together tightly which is difficult when you need one hand to slice with and the other to hold the bread with. It does give lovely size for toasting but certainly needs to be made sturdier.

I have had nothing but good results with this. This was bought for me as a gift from my sister who is new to bread making. I glued mine together and so it has not come appart. Why buy an expensive wooden or metal one when if you glue this together it is just as good? I totally recommend this. I use an electric knife to slice my bread and I think this also helps.

As I make my own bread, I bought this thinking at last I had found the answer to my bread-slicing prayers but alas it was not to be, as after three weeks of - careful - use, it just falls apart and has to be re-assembled each time it's used.A real pity this is made of cheap flimsy plastic, as it's what would otherwise be a good design and a very useful item. It really should be made of much stronger materials (and also should be ready made-up, not self-assembly as that compromises the structure even more and makes it unstable.)Indeed there *is* an expensive wood & metal bread slicer on Amazon, but it's only available on the US site and I have in fact just ordered one from there.I know that costs ten times as much (esp. if you factor in shipping), but I need one and there's no value whatsoever in buying this rubbish; I'd personally rather cough up for something fit for purpose and with a useful life of more than three weeks!2 stars for an excellent idea that works, but seriously let down by the quality.
