The unit comes with minimal instructions. The instructions it does have talk of a standard height ceiling of 2.4M, a standard height worktop of 90cm and then tells you that the extractor MUST be at least 75cm above the work top height. This IN NOT POSSIBLE, given the length of the bracket. So we initially fixed to the ceiling, then had to cut a bigger hole to accommodate the full unit, not just a 6" hole for the extractor hose. Moreover, we then had to build a timber bracket over the top of the ceiling joists to get our 75cm. The unit is now fixed, but you can then either have the top/vertical bit 'level' or the horizontal extractor bit 'level', but NOT both as its a bit flimsy.On the whole its not been a good purchase, has left my newly plastered ceiling in a mess and cost me more than I hoped as the carpenter had to do additional work to make it fit.Bought it as it complemented our silver and black stuff in the rest of our new kitchen, but wish I hadnt.
