The unit is also designed with a fruit and nut dispenser which allows you to add further ingredients into your mix and those with a sweet tooth can also make delicious fresh jam and cakes. The bread maintains its heat for up to an hour with the 60 minute Keep Warm feature and you can fit it into your schedule with the 13 hour time delay. Basic Printing Mistake in Instructions
By S. A. Muir
I carefully followed the instruction manual, which stated, for a one pound loaf, to use 180ml of water to 480g of flour. The result was appalling, and the photos I took of the mis-shapen brick are available if either Wozza or Breville are interested.Even the birds wouldn't eat it. I asked a neighbour who has had a similar machine for ages, and she told me that a minimum of 300ml of water was necessary for a 480 g loaf: I tried a second and third time with 300ml, and the results were excellent, so is there a printing error in the instruction manual (which I would consider totally inacceptable) or what? Secondly, the one pound loaves I have made have both been very good, but they rose so far that I would not be able to attempt a 1.5 or 2 lb loaf, because the bread pan could not accommodate anything larger(and, yes, I used 1 tsp of yeast as instructed in the manual). Finally, I set the crust colour to dark, which was just as well, because both successful loaves came our acceptably, but a pale coffee colour, so heaven knows what colour they would have been if I had set the machine to give a lighter colour crust. All in all, the should not have have given these problems.Stephen Muir. (And I am used to baking my own bread by hand!)

Bread maker
By Belinda Poer
I bought this as Christmas present for my mother - I posted it back last week. After 16 attempts only loaf was edible (that was because we followed the recipe on the flour packet, not the one in the book). The 'bread' was either raw, crumbs or so hard it would bounce off the floor. It is such a pity because it is a nice size and looks well in the kitchen. I would love to know why Breville continue to sell this product with incorrect information, over the last week I have read loads of reviews stating the recipes are wrong - I really really really wish I saw those reviews before I ordered it!!!

Great breadmaker but get your own recipe book!
By B. Stern-Gillet
We bought this breadmaker just before Christmas after reading some good reviews about it in a national paper. We had not previously made any bread so were quite inexperienced in this respect and just followed the instructions per the enclosed manual. The results were disasterous! There was just not enough water and what came out looked like crumble which went straight in the bin. We decided there must be a mistake in the manual and used the recipe on the pack of flour and this time the bread turned out well. As per the previous reviewer, the recipes that come with the manual are rubbish and the quantity of water to be used with the quantity of flour is completely wrong. Also, a 1 lb loaf pretty much comes near the top of the bread tin so not sure how you could make 1.5 or 2 lb loaves! Since then we have got a book which has recipes for breads using a bread machine and the breadmaker has not failed to disappoint. However, it is simply unacceptable that there should be such printing errors in the manual. So if you get this breadmaker, make sure you order a recipe book at the same time!
