I bought this toaster because it was a couple of pounds cheaper than the competition, but I think this was a false economy. The toaster looks nice, and is quite compact, but the slots are too small for a lot of bread types, they quite often don't fit in and if they do they stick out of the top meaning they have to be turned half way. Toasting quality isn't great, especially with frozen bread, which doesn't seem to toast around the edges.I'd recommend spending a couple of pounds more and buying one of the many toasters available for £20 instead of this one. I wish I had!POSTSCRIPT (November 2010):This toaster blew up the other day. It was just 2 years old. The funny thing was, I hated it so much that I wasn't even sad...

I bought this product about 3 years ago and up to now I didn't have any problems with it. It is still working and I hope it'll work for another years :-)

As per the previous comment it toasts the lower 75% of the bread slice just fine. The only worry is the top 25% that doesn't get toasted ! I did check for any malfunctioning elements but it appears to be all functioning, it is just too short. I can't believe that someone who has been in the toaster business this long can make such a basic sizing error.
