I ordered this blade for my breadmaker as a replacement. It was faulty and continuously flopped over and thus, would not kneed the bread. I made the mistake of ordering from Spares.com and when I contacted them got no resolve. First, they accused me of not being careful enough about which model I had shopped for. I was very careful. After numerous email exchanges, including a telephone call where I engaged with a horribly rude customer service person who actually hung up on me, I printed out a refund form, mailed it along with the faulty kneeding blade back to the company.After some time, I heard nothing and contacted them again. They then insisted that I mailed back an empty envelope. This is ridiculous. I had ordered from them before it and it was fine, but this experience had put me off. That is, unless you are willing to take the risk that this product will not be faulty, I would choose a different seller who can manage their customers with care and replace broken or wrong products. Good luck!

It seemed logical to me that a drop down kneading blade would work in a non MR machine as long as the direction of movement and the blade hole were consistent. I was happy to waste £7.00 if it didn't work and, to my great surprise, it did work. The blade didn't drop down fully but I've only tried it on one loaf and a Kenwood machine and the hole in the bottom of the loaf was smaller with the loaf coming out cleanly leaving the blade behind.

This is an excellent product that is easy to use....I have been really pleased with this product.The only issues have been caused by me!!I didn't read all the instructions at first and this was a stupid thing to do as I assumed that the machine was more difficult than it is.....I also didn't check out the correct type of yeast to use and bought one that specifically said it wasn't for bread machines!!( I still managed to use it though and baked a great loaf)So how does this work? Really well, just put in the correct ingredients, in the correct order, press the correct setting and THEN LEAVE THE MACHINE ALONE TO DO ITS WORK.....This is actually the most important point you don't actually need to do anything except put in the right ingredients.The way to make this work is to just use the really good recipe book that's included.To make a good white loaf just put the ingredients into the bread pan and put the machine on. The machine defaults to the correct setting for a large white loaf, and then press start. Leave alone for about 3 hours and then take out a lovely loaf....I have also made a cake, its the same idea, ingredients in, press the setting for cake then leave until finished....This machine is excellent, I have made bread, dough and cake, it's really easy...You can also make jam....If you don't want to measure ingredients etc then just buy a ready put together pack add water and thats it....I tried a Hovis granary, put in water,pack and pressed the correct setting and that's it!!! EASY!!!Tonight I timed myself, I put the ingredients in the pan after measuring out etc and it took five minutes from the beginning to pressing the start button.....So don't be scared about this (I was a bit) just give it a go and you will be eating lovely, fresh preservative free bread before you know it......

This is not a miracle breadmaker. If you're as bad at cooking as me, you won't get perfect results every time. But unlike my previous breadmaker, this one gives excellent results - for white bread at any rate - almost without fail.This breadmaker is large (about 39 cm wide x 24 cm deep x 32 cm tall) and heavy, finished in brushed steel with a white stripe round the top. It wouldn't be easy to put away between uses, so it would be best to leave it out on the work surface.All the controls are on the top. There are thirteen programme settings plus a quick bake option, three weights (500g, 750g and 1kg), and three crust finishes (light, medium or dark - there's a fan to help finish the crust). The bread pan is easy to remove and replace (it's a push fit), and stands up on its own (quite small) base when you're adding the ingredients. It looks as though it might fall over and spill the ingredients, but in practice this hasn't been a problem. A plastic measuring cylinder and an adjustable measuiring spoon are included, and an operating manual and recipe book. Neither copy of the recipe book I received was in English, but there was an English version as a PDF on the included CD.As long as you follow the instructions carefully (getting the quantities and order of adding the ingredients right), making a basic white loaf is very easy, and pretty reliable. It takes three and a half hours to produce a finished steaming-hot loaf, and the wonderful aroma of baking bread during the last hour is absolutely wonderful. The breadmaker will keep the bread warm for up to an hour. The bread tips out easily, and you really need to leave it on a rack to cool for a few minutes before you slice it. There is a small metal dough-stirrer left embedded in the finished loaf, but it's quite easy to cut out of the bottom of the loaf, and it doesn't affect the finished loaf significantly. It's best to eat the bread soon after you bake it, but it will keep for up to a day (the crust will get hard, though).The "rapid loaf" option takes an hour to make an acceptable white loaf. It's yeastier and not quite as satisfactory, but it's still better than the bread my previous maker could manage, and it's useful to have the option if you need bread in a hurry.I've had more trouble making granary loaves - they seem to be harder to get to rise reliably. I suspect the flour you use makes a difference. I've used Hovis's two versions of strong (red packet) and super strong (green packet) premium white bread flours (both of which worked brilliantly) and Hovis granary bread flour (which didn't always work for me). Some experimentation may be required. Baking time for wholemeal loaves is longer than for white - more than four hours.It's important to note that breadmakers won't save you money. Compared with supermarket bread, breadmaker bread will always cost more. What you get is the satisfaction of making your own bread, the wonderful smell of baking bread, and the loveliest, softest, steaming-hot fresh white bread you could hope for.Note: There are two sets of beeps you'll hear during most programs. The first is for ingredients that are to be folded into the dough, such as the raisins in raisin bread. The second set of beeps is for toppings, such as sesame or poppy seeds. Some of the recipes talk about adding ingredients during the second rising cycle - that means when you hear the first set of beeps.

Supplied in the box with the bread maker you'll find a measuring cup, the kneading blade and a surprisingly versatile little measuring spatula. A wealth of multi-language instruction and recipe books are provided, along with a cd-rom which contains pdf copies of the recipe booklet.The unit itself is quite good looking, although the stainless steel finish does seem to be a finger-print magnet, but this is quickly sorted with a wipe down from a damp sponge. I'd recommend a quick five minute read of the instruction book just to familiarise yourself with the layout and controls on the top of the unit and once you feel comfortable you're ready to go.Okay then; to my first 'bake...!' I started off with a simple 'egg-enriched' white loaf. The recipe book tells you how much of each ingredient to put in, and in what order to add them to the bucket. A basic loaf uses eggs, water, salt, sugar, vegatable oil and yeast. Once the ingredients have been added to the bucket you select program 1 and push the start button...... and that's it !I was surprised at the length of the cycle time (3hrs15mins), but these things can't be rushed and patiently I waited. Whilst my first loaf was being made I took time to read the recipe book more thoroughly and was pleased to see the amount of different breads and doughs could be produced from the machine. Throughout the process the machine 'beeps' occasionally to indicate when extra ingredients can be added (such as raisins, cheese, etc). There's also a 12hr delay timer so you can set the machine to switch itself on in the night and wake up to freshly baked bread in the morning.The first result...... After the cycle had finished, the unit tells you by giving off a beep. I opened the lid and was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderfully crispy, golden-baked batch loaf. I would recommend you use oven gloves to remove the baking tin from the bread maker and run a flat blade along the inner wall of the tin to initially loosen the loaf. Then, carefully tip the tin upside down and gently shake to manipulate the finished loaf from the tin. You'll find the kneading blade will be inside the base of the loaf but this is very easily removed with a small knife.After standing the loaf for 20 minutes to cool down a little I cut off the first slice and wow....! It smelled delicious, and with some butter on - it tasted wonderful...! I thought the taste could have been improved with a touch more salt - but that's just my personal preference. For a first attempt (please also see my photographs of the result), I was more than pleased and am already planning on making some dough to bake bread rolls in the oven. I haven't yet used the convection facility, which is there to assist in 'crispier' results and faster baking.So, to conclude. A very easy to use machine that from initial impressions can and does provide tasty home made bread without any complications or worries. Totally recommended.

Excellent product for the money,good to look at,no eu plug came with this as promised, however it is only a couple of pounds to buy one, the mixer was delivered in seven day's, dose not move around when in use,the paddle, whisk, and doe hook, are not of the best quality but for the price it is an all round excellent buy,the reason i needed this mixer is i have arthritis in my hands,this mixer has proved to be so simple and straightforward,easy to use and clean,bowl and whisk etc.go on without a problem,no struggling,i would recommend this as very good value for money

I purchased this mixer to replace a bread maker which I was only using to mix the dough for hand shaping. After a lot of research I decided on this large capacity mixer as it has the auto setting for bread dough (amongst others). Don't let the relative lightness of the mixer put you off - the plastic suckers on the bottom make it stick to the work surface like glue. It's powerful motor makes easy work of the dough and after 5 mins on the auto setting the dough is ready for its first proving. It comes out as sweet as a nut with no sticky residue - the dough hook certainly collects all the ingredients together and makes a nice even dough mix. My wife is itching to use it for cakes but as I write this she hasn't had a chance yet! It is dead easy to clean and looks good on the kitchen units. For the price I just can't complain and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great value stand mixer which does exactly what it says in its advertising blurb. Nice one Andrew James.

The product seems solid and generally good albeit the basket device a little flimsy. The major issue for me is that when the basket is in the raised position to drain food, the bottom 1/2 inch of the basket is still in the oil so you need to fully remove the basket to drain the product.

The fryer makes great chips. It has lots of good points and some bad ones. Firstly, the good points are it looks good. The container for the oil can be removed from the fryer so it is very easy to clean. There are two bad points..... firstly, when you drain the chips and leave them sitting on the fryer, the basket does not completely go above the oil. Therefore you end up with some of the chips still cooking away that are in the bottom of the basket. Secondly, this product has the SHORTEST cord to plug in the wall ever!! The cord is ridiculously short that we can't plug it into our socket on the worktop as the height of the product means it's nearly touching the bottom of the kitchen cupboards. We have had to use an extension lead which is a bit annoying but it works ok. My only other gripe is that the handle seems quite wobbly when it is closed and in the unit.It has a few annoying points but generally its a good product and easy to clean. Would recommend.

This dough hook only lasts a year or two before the paint starts to chip and end up in your dough. Handwash only and be prepared to by new hooks often.I wish someone would make a stainless steel hook.

In my family we like to bake our own bread but like everything else in life it's trying to find the time to do it. Does what it should in no time at all. The shape and design allow the hook to cut through the dough and mix it at the same time.
